  • 2 tablespoons vegetable broth
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 dried Chinese chili peppers
  • 2 green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by mixing all sauce ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Create the slurry by combining cornstarch and water in another bowl.
  3. Steam broccoli in a skillet with water for 1 minute until tender. Set aside.
  4. Sear mushrooms in peanut oil until browned, then add garlic, ginger, and chili peppers.
  5. Combine broccoli and sauce into the pan; stir well before adding slurry to thicken.
  6. Serve hot over rice or as a side dish.
